EIAA SUPPORTS GLOBAL ALLIANCE TO COMBAT SPAM
London, United Kingdom, 29 April 2003 - The European Interactive Advertising Association - the European trade organisation for sellers of interactive media, today welcomed the formation of an industry alliance between Yahoo!, AOL and Microsoft to combat Spam.
Michael Kleindl, EIAA Chairman and CEO of AdLINK Internet Media AG, commented: "Today's announcement is a huge step forward. There is now a global alliance to tackle the issue of spam at a strategic level. In Europe the EIAA members will support this development by working together to share best practice in terms of self-regulation, education, technical innovation and enforcement to ensure the fight against spam is effective on every front. The message to spammers is clear - unsolicited email will be fought aggressively across the world."
